Karnali Highway, Nepal
The 250-kilometer Karnali Highway in Nepal annually takes lives from 50 people. The road is a very narrow strip of land bordering the precipice. It’s tight here, even on a motorcycle, not to mention cars. Most of the year travel by car on the highway is prohibited.
A large number of deaths on the Karnali Highway are knitted with a lack of railings, landslides, rock falls.
Despite the danger and an impressive number of victims, hundreds of cars drive here every day. The highway connects dozens of villages and is often the only way to get to some localities.

Guolyan Tunnel, China
The famous Guoliang tunnel, which is in the mountains of Taihangshan, is a national landmark of China. The length of the tunnel is 1.2 km, 13 local residents built it for 5 years. Many of the builders were killed. Opened the road on May 1, 1977. The tunnel has become a popular tourist destination in China, as it has many windows overlooking the valley. The Golyan tunnel is especially dangerous for driving in rainy seasons. Accidents happen here every year.

North Yungas Road, Bolivia

In 1995, the Inter-American Development Bank chose the most dangerous road in the world, and their choice fell on the Northern Yungas. The lack of fencing, rains and fogs, rock falls in the summer – all this makes the highway deadly dangerous. This is the only road in Bolivia where drivers are required to drive on the left side to give a better view to other drivers.
